ERP Modernization

Panaya's Change Intelligence Platform is a SaaS tool for change-impact analysis and automated test generation across SAP, Oracle E-Business Suite, and Salesforce landscapes, sold by Panaya, an Israeli company acquired by Infosys in 2015 and still operating today as an Infosys subsidiary. Automatic Code Corrections (ACC), a feature of the platform, analyzes custom ABAP code ahead of an SAP S/4HANA conversion and applies pattern-based fixes; Panaya's own published figures put this at up to 90% reduction in code-correction time on well-understood patterns, with complex business logic still needing manual ABAP review. The platform is licensed independently of SAP and is not bundled with any SAP subscription.

KTern.AI is an agentic AI platform for planning and executing SAP S/4HANA migration projects, built by KaarTech (Kaar Technologies), an SAP consulting partner with more than two decades of SAP delivery experience. The platform tracks readiness assessment, cutover planning, and custom-code remediation across a migration program, and in 2024 KaarTech rebranded it around generative and agentic AI capabilities. It is sold as an independent product division of KaarTech under its own subscription, separate from Kaar's traditional SAP consulting engagements, and is unrelated to Panaya despite both operating in the SAP ecosystem.

SAP Migration Cockpit is the data-transfer tool bundled with S/4HANA that maps legacy records onto predefined migration objects and stages them for load, covering master and transactional data but not custom ABAP remediation. SAP shipped it with the S/4HANA 1610 on-premise release in late 2016 as a successor to the older LSMW/LTMC tools, and it now supports both direct transfer from a defined list of SAP source systems and staging-table loads from non-SAP systems. It ships as part of the S/4HANA license with no separate SKU, and its scope is limited to structured data movement — process redesign and custom-code conversion remain separate workstreams.

SAP Signavio Process Intelligence is a process-mining product that reconstructs how a business process actually ran, as opposed to how it was designed, by extracting and analyzing event logs from SAP and non-SAP source systems. Signavio launched the product, originally just "Signavio Process Intelligence," in November 2016, years before SAP acquired Signavio in 2021 and folded it into the SAP Signavio Process Transformation Suite under the SAP brand. It is licensed separately from core S/4HANA and from SAP Migration Cockpit or Readiness Check: it analyzes running processes for optimization and conformance, not migration readiness or data transfer.

SAP Joule is SAP's generative-AI copilot, embedded directly into SAP S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba, and other cloud applications to answer questions, summarize records, and trigger transactions from natural-language prompts. SAP unveiled Joule in September 2023 and began rolling it into live products that same year, starting with SAP SuccessFactors and the SAP Start site in the second-half-2023 release, before extending to S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and further SAP lines through 2024 and 2025. Joule is bundled into existing SAP cloud subscriptions rather than sold as a standalone license, and its available capabilities vary by which SAP product line a customer runs; newer agent-building features such as Joule Studio reached general availability separately, in 2026.

SAP Readiness Check is a self-service diagnostic that scans an existing SAP ECC or S/4HANA system and reports the simplification items, custom-code conflicts, and sizing changes a customer will hit before converting or upgrading to a target S/4HANA release. SAP has run the tool since May 2017 and has extended it since with add-on checks such as Financial Data Quality in 2020 and, more recently, business-AI capability coverage, delivered through SAP for Me and SAP Cloud ALM. It is bundled with an active SAP support contract rather than sold separately, and it produces a planning report only — it does not execute the conversion or perform any code remediation itself.

Infosys Cobalt is Infosys's set of cloud services, solutions, and platforms for enterprises. Its Modernization Suite includes over 40 services and aims to reduce development effort by up to 40% using proprietary AI-driven tools.

IBM Consulting delivers mainframe assessment, application modernization and migration services. Its mainframe services page includes both on-platform modernization and migration to cloud or distributed environments. The BCC Iccrea case study describes Consulting and Technology Expert Labs designing integration between IBM Z core banking applications and external REST APIs. This supplier-published case supports an API integration role, rather than a mainframe exit.

Deloitte combines business strategy with technical execution in its modernization work. It works in complex, regulated environments where risk management and business continuity matter as much as the code conversion itself.

Cognizant is ranked #1 in Application Modernization by HFS. Its "Skygrade" platform uses generative AI and modern tooling to accelerate cloud-native transformations, particularly in banking and healthcare.

Capgemini is a global technology and consulting firm. Its "Economic Application Modernization" approach focuses on optimizing costs while migrating legacy workloads to the cloud.

Accenture is a global professional services firm with a mainframe modernization practice. It combines strategic consulting with large-scale delivery and partnerships with the major cloud providers. Its "myNav" platform is used to chart migration paths.
