SAP Joule is SAP's generative-AI copilot, embedded directly into SAP S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba, and other cloud applications to answer questions, summarize records, and trigger transactions from natural-language prompts. SAP unveiled Joule in September 2023 and began rolling it into live products that same year, starting with SAP SuccessFactors and the SAP Start site in the second-half-2023 release, before extending to S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and further SAP lines through 2024 and 2025. Joule is bundled into existing SAP cloud subscriptions rather than sold as a standalone license, and its available capabilities vary by which SAP product line a customer runs; newer agent-building features such as Joule Studio reached general availability separately, in 2026.
