Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
OCI Cache lets customers upgrade a cluster from the Redis 7.0 cache engine to a Valkey-based cache engine from the OCI console, CLI, or API. Oracle states that reads, writes, and deletes remain available while an upgrade runs, although other update operations cannot begin until it finishes.
The upgrade cannot be rolled back after completion. Oracle recommends testing the selected engine version with the application first, so this route is most directly applicable to workloads already running on OCI Cache rather than a general Redis-to-Valkey migration across environments.
