If you still run Oracle Forms

The date that matters depends on the Forms line you run. Forms 12c (12.2.x) leaves Premier Support in December 2026, and Extended Support ends in December 2027. Forms 14c (14.1.x) has Premier Support until December 2030 and Extended Support until December 2033.

The realistic options:

  • Upgrade to Forms 14c. This stays on Oracle Forms and resets the Premier Support clock to December 2030. Test your PL/SQL libraries, Java beans and reports against the new release first.
  • Buy Extended Support for 12c. It covers 2027 at an additional fee. Oracle's policy gives no percentage, so request a quote and compare it with the upgrade.
  • Migrate the front end. Rebuild the screens as a web application and keep the Oracle database and PL/SQL where they work. The Oracle Forms to React guide covers scope and risk.
  • Replace the stack. If the database is also a cost problem, plan both moves together; see Oracle to PostgreSQL.
