Is Java EE (WebLogic) Still Supported? End-of-Life Dates (2026)
Short answer
Java EE (WebLogic) is supported until Dec 2030 (in 4 years and 2 months). CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog lists 12 vulnerabilities in Java EE (WebLogic).
Java EE has no support date of its own because support comes from the application server; for Oracle WebLogic, 12.2.x leaves Premier Support in December 2026 and Extended Support, which costs extra, in December 2027.

If you still run Java EE (WebLogic)
Java EE itself has no deadline, so the date that matters is your application server's. For Oracle WebLogic, 12.2.x (including 12.2.1.4) leaves Premier Support in December 2026 and Extended Support in December 2027. WebLogic 14.1.x has Premier Support until December 2030 and 15.x until October 2030.
The realistic options:
- Upgrade WebLogic. Moving to 14.1.x or 15.x restores Premier Support and keeps the application on a Java EE server. Test the application against the target version before committing to a date.
- Buy Extended Support for 12.2.x. Oracle sells it for the extra year at a fee on top of standard support. It buys a year without code changes.
- Change application server. Moving to another server or to a container runtime removes the Oracle licence dependency but needs the same regression testing.
- Migrate to Spring Boot. The Java EE to Spring Boot guide covers scope, cost ranges and risks.

Frequently asked questions
Is Java EE still supported?
Java EE as a specification has no support date; support comes from each application server vendor. Oracle WebLogic Server 14.1.x and 15.x are under Premier Support until December 2030 and October 2030 respectively, per Oracle's Lifetime Support Policy.
When does Oracle WebLogic 12.2.1.4 reach end of support?
Oracle lists Premier Support for WebLogic Server 12.2.x, which includes 12.2.1.4, ending in December 2026 and Extended Support ending in December 2027. Sustaining Support continues with no end date but adds no new fixes or security patches.
Is it safe to keep running an unpatched Java EE application server?
CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog lists WebLogic Server entries, so a server that no longer receives Oracle's security patches is exposed to vulnerabilities attackers have used.
Can I get extended support for WebLogic?
Yes, from Oracle, for an additional fee on top of the standard support fee (policy). It runs to December 2027 for 12.2.x and December 2033 for 14.1.x. Oracle's policy gives no percentage, so ask for a quote.
