AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT)

AWS Schema Conversion Tool (AWS SCT) is a free desktop application from Amazon that reads a source database's schema — tables, views, stored procedures, and embedded application SQL — and converts it into an equivalent schema for a target engine such as Amazon Aurora, Amazon RDS, or Amazon Redshift. AWS released SCT as a preview in October 2015 and brought it to general availability alongside AWS DMS in 2016; the two tools are designed to work together, with SCT converting the schema and DMS moving the data. Where SCT cannot auto-convert a database feature, it flags the gap in an assessment report and can generate AWS Lambda-based extension packs to emulate the missing functionality on the target.
