VBUC (Visual Basic Upgrade Companion) is a commercial, licensed tool that converts VB6 source code to C#, VB.NET, or Blazor, including mapping the data-access layer (ADO/DAO) to Entity Framework Core and remapping third-party library calls as part of the conversion. The product predates its current owner: it was long developed and sold by Mobilize.Net, whose Application Migration Business Unit — including VBUC — was acquired by Growth Acceleration Partners (GAP) in a deal that closed in February 2023. GAP now sells it through its GAPVelocity.ai brand, where current marketing refers to it as the "VB6 AI Migrator," though the VBUC name persists in the product's documentation and license terms. Licensing is based on effective lines of code (ELOC) to be migrated, with a free tier limited to 10,000 lines.
